About The Artist

Cesar Velez is a Mexican visual artist based in Kansas City, MO.  His work is a personal navigation of an undocumented immigrant experience influenced by the millennial cultural landscapes that formed the world around him. Expressive use of color & familial figurative imagery is prevalent in his current paintings as he explores the crucial role that strong family ties played in surviving the complex and often traumatic assimilating experience of his early childhood in the south and midwest United States.
